RULES + REGULATIONS
OFFICIAL START: 4:00pm Friday, 19th July 2019.
First weigh-in: 4:00pm Saturday, 20th July 2019.
The entry fee is paid only once, you may fish 1 day or 8 days.
Identification card must be presented at all weigh-in’s.
Entry fee must be paid before the official opening in order to be eligible for weigh-in on the first day, Saturday 20th July 2019.
To be eligible to weigh-in an entry fee must be paid 24 hours prior to weighing-in.
(a) All fish must be weighed on official scales provided by organizers to be eligible.
(b) All fish presented to the scales must be taken on rod and reel or hand line.
(c) No undersize fish weighed-in.
(d) No more than (1) fish of the same species can be weighed-in on any one night.
(e) Weigh-in’s will be conducted daily from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm. Last weigh-in on Saturday 27th July 2019, will be from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
(f) All fish weighed-in must be Gilled, Gutted and reef fish must have
the pectoral Finn cut. NO WHOLE FISH or REEF FISH PECTORAL FINN UNCUT will be weighed-in.
(g) All fish caught during the competition must adhere to all recreational fishing regulation governed by the DPI. All fish caught must be within size and bag limits, including the Pectoral Finn cut.
(h) Drone fishing is strictly prohibited.
(i) Only (1) fish can win (1) major prize.
(j) Any fish deemed to be more than 24 hours since being caught in the opinion of the official judges will be disqualified—THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL.`
Any evidence of fraud such as fish more than 24 hours since being caught, fish transported from other than offshore and inlet waters of Rainbow Beach, netted fish, or any action in defiance of the rules and good will of the competition will be placed in the hands of the Police in attendance.
Fishing boundaries are Eurong to the North and Noosa North Shore to the South. In order to protect the Grey Nurse Shark habitat, there is a 1.5 km radius restriction of fishing around Wolf Rock.
(a) In order for a fish to win a prize, the fish must be in categories nominated.
(b) No sharks, rays, or vermin, QLD groper, or cod will be accepted.
(c) (1) fish can only win (1) Major Prize.
(d) All boats are required to comply with Queensland Boating Regulations.
(e) All prizes must be claimed nightly and are not our responsibility.
Authorized people can be nominated but must be submitted to Sports Club Office before presentation.
(f) Winner of lucky entry prize must be present at the draw.
The competitors nominated notes that The Rainbow Beach Sport’s, Recreation and Memorial Club INC excepts no liability for any Injury, loss, damage of any person during the competition, whether such injury or loss is due to any act, neglect or default of The Rainbow Beach Sport’s, Recreation and Memorial Club INC or of any official or agent there- of and all competitors fully understand that in so participating, they do so entirety at their own risk.
(a) If the event organizers or the COAST GUARD deem the crossing of the Wide Bay Bar unsafe, participants are expected to adhere to these warnings. Event organizers reserve the right to rule fish ineligible if safety warnings have been breeched.
JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL.
(a) Reference Book will be E.N. Grant’s Guide to Fishes 2004 Commemorative 10th Edition.
(b) THE MANAGEMENT SHALL HAVE THE ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO EXCLUDE ANYONE FROM THE COMPETITION WITHOUT GIVING ANY REASON WHAT SO EVER.
FINAL DRAW RULES
(a) To be eligible for draw you must have paid the entry fee.
(b) (3) entry numbers will be drawn each night after the weigh-in, making a total of (24) eligible entrant. These draws will be at random between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm.
(c) In each draw the entrant possessing the number announced must present him/herself with Fishing Comp I.D and photographic I.D eg. Drivers license within one minute of drawing or another draw will occur.
(d) During the Major Trophy Presentation on Saturday 27 July 2019, (1) entry will be drawn from the already drawn eligible (24) numbers, by drawing (23) numbers first, making the last number the winner.
(e) Before the draw commences all (24) eligible entrants will be required to present themselves, when called to the stage within (2) minutes or be disqualified from the draw.
(f) When the winner of the final draw, Saturday 27 July 2019, has been identified to the satisfaction of the organizers than that entrant will win the Major Prize.
(g) With the (24) eligible numbers drawn, (23) entrants shall receive a consolation prize.
(h) No entrant can be drawn twice or more among the (24) eligible entrants.
The competitor is entitled to a full refund of fees paid, less $25 administration fee and agrees, that to be eligible for a refund of any nature an application for a refund must be submitted in writing to the Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Competition registrations no later than 5.00pm on the 12th of July 2019. Refund applications received after this date will be denied. The competitor accepts that should any fees arise by their financial institution as a result of a dishonoured payment on a cheque or credit card debit, the competitor will be responsible for any such fees and will be ineligible to participate until such time as those fees are paid.
The competitor consents to the publication and/or use in any form of merchandise or media whatsoever of their name, image, voice, results, statements or otherwise, without payment or compensation and agree that they will reasonably expect to receive marketing material, such as e-news and entry forms, from Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Competition.
Any action, incident or situation not covered by the rules and conditions written in this Entry Form shall be determined co-jointly by the organizing committee of The Rainbow Beach Sport’s, Recreation and Memorial Club INC and the Official Judge if or when those conditions arise. Their Decision is Final.
(a) All vessels must have current Queensland registration or registration recognized in Queensland and must have the registration numbers displayed on both sides of the vessel.
(b) Boat skippers must be the holder of a Queensland speedboat driver’s license or a boat license recognized in Queensland.
(c) All vessels must carry all the safety equipment as required by the Queensland Marine Regulations.
(d) In the interest of safety it is mandatory that all offshore boats are outfitted with marine radios and an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon)
(e) All vessels must contact the coast guard prior to and after each day fishing and provide their competitor number.
(f) Commercial fisherman & commercial vessels must participate as recreational fisherman, adhering to all rules and regulations that apply to recreational fisherman & their vessels.
(g) Any fish caught during the competition are prohibited to be sold.
(h) ANY FISH presented at weigh-in with missing tail fins or any other fin except pectoral fin—WILL BE INELIGIBLE
(a) Charter Boat skippers/owners are responsible for ensuring, fish caught on their boats by competitors are weighed in by the person WHO caught the fish. This is in the fairness and spirit of the competition.
(b) In order to police this, all fish caught on Charter Boats MUST have a coloured zip tag to distinguish and identify ownership of that fish.
